Life is an adventure, I tell you, but it doesn't necessarily leave you a lot of time to blog. Here's an update of the past month:
European Juggling Convention:
I have three little letters: w-o-w. So much talent and creativity. It was small by EJC standards, but still over 2,000 people. All day there were workshops in anything and everything remotely related to juggling, and every night there were a variety of performances and stages. Many of my favorite poi spinners were there, and I added several people to that list. Between taking workshops, offering at least one a day, selling DVDs to the various juggling vendors, and meeting people, I had little time to take photos and blog. If you can possibly do it, come to Greece next year for EJC 2007, and see the real thing.
Ireland Adventures:
After the EJC, Dan, Vif, Zamir, Gina, and myself rented a car and adventured for a few days. Ireland is beautiful! We dropped the girls off at the airport and went to Galway, and then to Belfast to teach a workshop and to do a video shoot at the Giant's Causeway. I'll post the video when I get it.
Hosch-a-Fur:
....and then to Germany, where I rented a car with Dan to drive to Austria, for a fire-spinner's festival at a castle in the Alps. Oh, do I like Austria. We met many amazing people and I am soooooo happy that I've come to Europe. The festival started very relaxed, with laid back workshops and trips to the lake...
and then went into high gear as we all put together a fire show in three days to perform at the end of a rock music concert :) Four of us teamed up to be a Fire-Spinning Boy Band. I have discovered a new calling.
Oh, and Dan and I learned, upon polling some Germans, that there is no official Traditional German Breakfast. We concluded that it was up for grabs, and here is Dan cooking a fried-banana-and-brie-ommolette, the now-official traditional German breakfast.
After Hosch-A-Fur we dropped Dan off at a little airport, and sadly bid him farewell. Hopefully we'll be playing in Thailand this winter. From there we drove all the way to Cologne in Northern Germany to help many of the same people from Hosch-A-Fur put on a big fire show for another music festival. This trip was one too many for me, and I really hit my wall and began to suffer from sleep deprivation. I'm glad I went, but when I got back to Innsbruck I slept for three days straight.
UberEurope:
And then to Vienna for UberEurope, organized by Rob and the Fenfire gang. UberEurope took place in a huge school gymnasium complex, and brought about 70 spinners from several countries. I started a little bit of repoiting and I bring you Ronan:
And now?
... a week has passed since I started writing this blog entry. I'm currently on the place towards Dublin, and will probably upload from Belfast.
Ok, I'm in Norther Ireland, and as usual I'm having a heck of a time getting my computer on the internet. Long story, but this is not as easy as I'd hoped. :)
More soon....
