We love fire spinning, but we want to be clear: this is ultimately a poi site, not a fire spinning site.

It's like juggling. Yes, you can juggle fire. Yes, juggling fire can be a beautiful way to express juggling. But it's not the only reason people juggle, and it's silly to say to a juggler, "hey, that was cool the way you stalled the ball on your ear, and then rolled it over your nose to your other ear... but how are you going to do that with fire?"

What DOES annoy us is seeing irresponsible use of fire and fuel in regards to safety and the environment. Few things turn us off more than seeing a group of fire spinners sloshing kerosene all over the ground in a watershed or on a beach in a marine park. To us, it's like drunk driving, and conveys the same level of maturity, and "oh, I drive drunk all the time and I've never been in an accident" is obviously a pretty weak excuse for drunk driving, and the same thing goes for being irresponsible with fire.
