You'll naturally become part of the Playpoi community once you've explored the website. Here are some great things to explore:
Learn about who we are and how it all started:
Playpoi.com is designed to act as an interface between a group of artists (us) and the people who like what they're doing (you). By learning how playpoi.com works, you'll enjoy your relationship with us all the more. You'll also learn how to help other organizations you like.
Disqus Comments and ShareThis Social Networking Integration:If you go to the full page of any item of content (by clicking on the title of a teaser or the "read more" link at the bottom) you will find a Disqus comments widget at the bottom and the ShareThis widget at the top. Disqus gives you a way to discuss the content of the page via your favourite social networking service such as Facebook, Twitter, OpenID, and Google, and ShareThis lets you promote the content directly onto your social networking accounts.
Photos and Flickr:
Most of our photos are hosted on flickr.com. We have done this because we want to be part of a larger community. Clicking on most photos will take you to its flickr page. From there, you can tag photos and vote for them and leave comments, which raises the profile of poi and playpoi within the flickr community and search engines in general.
Most of us have a Playpoi blog. The blogs are how we keep you updated with new and inspiring events as they happen. We've written a little article on why blogs are cool. From there, everything will unroll as long as we keep putting up content you like and you keep checking it out. In the blog we make occasional poiticipate entries, simple little things you can do to help us keep doing what we do. Together we get to watch and influence the evolution of a very interesting art form.
The Navigation and Menu System, with Customization!:
We now have a much better system of menus and sections, to help you find what you're looking fo. And if you're logged in you can customize your Playpoi experience. See those blocks at the top of most sections explaining the section? Click the little "x" and they'll disappear!
Videos now launch in lightbox. This gives us much more freedom with the layout of the website. Let us know if the videos work ok.
The Facebook Comments Box:
We've included a Facebook comments block on the right side of many pages, which is for questions or comments about the whole website. Notice that your comment can appear on your Facebook profile!
We also have a Frequently Asked Questions section (the FAQs). Finally Nick is off the hook! Ha!
