Here are some of our favorite websites! Community sites offer communication tools to the poi and flow-arts communities. Poi schools are great places around the world where you can learn poi. Performance troupes bring the arts to life in a beautiful way. We also offer a tribute to Friends of Playpoi.

Home of Poi

Homeofpoi.com is a major hub for all things poi, offering a huge shop, photo galleries, and event listings. They are a well-run company, a great group of people, and if you click through to them and buy something, you will also be supporting us here at Playpoi!

We particularly recommend COLECORD (the ultimate poi string!), FLUFFY PRACTICE POI as a great beginner set, RAINBOW LED POI (if you can't afford flowtoys), and CATHEDRAL OVER-LINK FIRE POI for fire spinning. There are too many products to list, actually, so just go browse around.

Flowtoys

Sean and Prisna at flowtoys.com are good friends of Nick and the Playpoi crew. Their flowlights are our favorite LED toys in the universe, and we hope to help rally the community behind them (which will be easy as long as they keep making the best toys.)

Here Nick talks about why he loves Flowtoys, and then he has a spin with them. It's a bit outdated (oggs are out, flowlights are in!), but the message is still there: support Flowtoys and businesses like them!

Feuershow.de

Feuershow.de is a German gear shop run by the wonderful Sam and friends.  They produce and sell awesome fire effects and parts for poi (including Nick's favorite swivels!).  We have an affiliate program with them as well, so if you go buy something, you're supporting Playpoi!

Poi and Friends

Poi and Friends is the new website by our friends at feuershow.de. They are offering a huge database of poi moves, many created by the community and many more created at Sam's HQ in Germany, often with the help of Friends of Playpoi. It's a great place to look through a huge selection of poi moves and other community resources!

Flames ‘N Games

Flames ‘N Games is a UK based specialist manufacturer / retailer of all kinds of circus, juggling & fire spinning equipment including a large range of Poi Spinning gear as well as our Playpoi DVDs!

FundtheFlowarts.org

Fundtheflowarts.org is an exciting project initiated by Sean and Prisna at Flowtoys.com, Khan Wong, and other Flow artists.

It's a non-profit organization to support the development and spread of the flow arts around the world!

Delhi 2 Dublin

Nick befriended one of the members of Delhi 2 Dublin while living in Vancouver, long ago. They agreed to let us use some of their tracks in our videos.

The group has since become a global sensation and this year played at the Bali Spirit Festival - where we saw them after this year's Bali retreat

The Ministry Of Manipulation

The Ministry of Manipulation is an amazing object manipulation site that's run by the incredible Drew.

Ball Manipulation, Hoop Manipulation, Contact Staff, Poi, Club swinging, Body Rolling, dancing with things .... They all happen here. The video blog is fantastic. Highly recommended.

La Escuela del Sol

La Escuela del Sol, run by our friends Jeremy and Andrea, offers poi as well as surfing, yoga, and spanish classes in Montezuma, Costa Rica.

Flow Temple

Flow Temple is pure awesome.  It's located in Los Angeles and run by our friends Tea Faerie and our beloved and much missed Burning Dan. Tea Faerie is now working with Thom and others to keep the vision vibrant.

They offer instruction in the fire arts with a focus on the flow-side as opposed to the technical, and they can always be counted upon to liven up any situation!  :)

Flame Oz

Flame Oz is a performance troupe based out of Australia that performs breathtaking fire spectaculars, stage shows, and walkabout circus entertainment worldwide.

We had the pleasure of befriending two core members of this troupe when they came to our retreat in Bali in 2010 - and Karen filmed it! Check them out!

poicommunity.com

Poicommunity.com is the wonderful community site run by the amazing Yuta. It offers discussion forums as well as online lessons. Yuta has put a lot of energy into the poi community in Japan, purely from his big-hearted love of poi and people. Check it out.

FirePoise

FirePoise was founded in 2005 by award-winning poi artist Clare Palmer. Clare and her group of lovely performers put on fire and glow shows for events across Ireland.

Nick's had the pleasure of working with them on some of their projects! Clare has worked hard to build the fire spinning community in Northern Ireland, and she also won COL 2006. Tis fire poi, mixed with some Irish loveliness :)

Trick Concepts

Trickconcepts.com is a very innovative company in California making much more than just poi and fire gear. Check them out if you're into conceptual art! :)

If you decide to buy something, you can enter "poi321" when checking out to support us here at Playpoi.com!

Salza

Salza.se is run by very sweet Swedish people who love poi and fire and parties. They make the amazing Isis poi heads which Nick uses for his personal fire poi.

The Salza crew supports all the poi and fire events in Sweden and show up to make sure everybody has a good time at other events like the EJC :)
