Swiss Retreat 2010 Vlog

We've wrapped up our third annual Swiss Poi Retreat at the Balmeggberg! It was great fun -- spinning, sauna, and yummy organic food.

Check out our Swiss Poi Retreats album on Flickr for some beautiful photos, and check out our vlog from a day of training!

Ode to Poi Community

One of the most exciting and beautiful things about poi is the community that surrounds it. I know, it sounds cheesy, but it's entirely true: everywhere i go, I encounter amazing people who play with poi. And the better they are at poi, the better people they are.

Does poi prowess enhance personhood prowess? Is that possible? I'm beginning to suspect so. Investing time in playing and learning has cool side effects, and I think that's pretty awesome.

Finding Tami's Neverland

Post-retreat Gili adventure!

After the March retreats, we decided it was time for some much-needed r&r, and we found the perfect post- poi retreat headquarters:  Tami's Neverland!

For the Love of Flow

About a year ago, I fell in love with the flow-wand. In this video, I fall in love with fire wand!

Thanks to Karen for the use of her wand and for shooting this footage!

In the Footsteps of Giants

This is one of my all time favorite fire videos, and not just because it features both Nick and the fabled Arashi!  It's filmed on the Giant's Causeway in Northern Island, and is really a breath-taking video.  It really proves the value of location.

Also features Andy Hoenigschmid, Clare Palmer, and Lisa Dunne.  Filmed by David Booth, edited by Sy Taffel.  Music by Afro Celt Sound System.
